We recently presented  our Open Source Solar Lawn Mower, project to Boca Bearings Innovation Competition and it has been selected and you can now vote for it!

This lawn mower uses only energy from the sun and does not require any external power source, that can operate in areas not covered by the electricity service. Is very simple to operate this mower and does not require a lot of work for wiring.

A truly green and innovative project that deserves your support!

Vote on Boca Bearings Innovation Competition.

Compliments in any case, but I think it is impossible to use the robot as it is, because the robot is not designed to endure under the rain. But this is only a mechanical problem!

You make a good point, but I don’t make a practice of mowing in the rain and I wouldn’t expect a ‘bot to either. Perhaps adding a rain detector and humidity sensor could send it back to a “dog house” shelter if either rain or humidity above 85% or even moisture content of grass is detected. That all could be included in V2!
